GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) -
After posting her fifth consecutive double double
performance, No. 12/12 Green Bay (25-1, 15-1 HL) women's basketball senior Julie Wojta (Francis Creek, Wis.) has been named the Co-Horizon League Player of the
Week for the week ending Feb. 26. The accolade marks the fifth time this season
Wojta has received Player of the Week honors.
With its
72-36 win over Valparaiso Feb. 23 and 78-53 win over Butler Feb. 25, Green Bay
clinched its 14th consecutive regular season Horizon League championship. Wojta
scored a combined 43 points and grabbed 23 rebounds while posting double double
performances in both contests. Wojta has 30 career double doubles, the second most
among players in the history of Green Bay women's basketball since moving to
Division I in 1987-88.
Green Bay
will play its final pair of regular season games as it travels to the windy
city Thursday, Mar. 1 to battle Loyola (12-15, 7-9 HL) at 7 p.m. before
wrapping up the season at UIC (16-11, 9-7 HL) Saturday, Mar. 3 at 3 p.m.
Wojta was
recently a Capital One Academic All-America Second Team selection and a
mid-season addition to the Wade Trophy Watch list. Having the best season of
her career and one of the best ever in Phoenix history, Wojta is playing at an
