GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) -
With the No. 17/14 (12-0, 2-0 HL) Green Bay women's
basketball team having another impressive season, the Phoenix is once again
receiving much-deserved recognition from national media outlets.
ESPN.com writer Graham Hays recently spent four days observing Green
Bay's final week of nonconference play. Hays attended the team's practices in
addition to its games against Ball State Dec. 20 before witnessing its second
undefeated nonconference season with a win over Wisconsin Dec. 23.
Hays published an article on Green Bay senior Julie Wojta (Francis Creek, Wis.) who has had to become more
selfish in order for the Phoenix to maintain its success. Wojta's front-page
debut on ESPN.com can be viewed here.
Through
games played Jan. 1, Wojta ranks in the nation's top 23 in five statistical
categories including 14th in steals per contest (3.5), 19th in points per game
(19.7), 20th in rebounds per game (10.2), 21st with six double doubles and 23rd
in field-goal percentage (55.8).

Green Bay
will play its lone Horizon League contest of the week Saturday, Jan. 7 at
Milwaukee. The Phoenix and Panthers will tip off at 12:30 p.m. at the Klotsche
Center.
