GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - Three days after a thrilling overtime victory over Valparaiso, Green Bay returns to the road for the fifth time in seven games, beginning the final weekend of the regular season at Youngstown State on Thursday night.

Monday's game was a much needed victory for the Phoenix, and senior Bryquis Perine (Milwaukee, Wis.) stepped up on Senior Night to provide the lift. The southpaw scored seven of his 20 points in overtime, including the game-winning jumper with 10 seconds to play to lead Green Bay to an 81-80 victory.

Freshman Alec Brown (Winona, Minn.) had a career-high 22 points and 12 rebounds in the contest, the best night of his true freshman season. The 7-foot-1 center hit all eight of his free throws and knocked down 7-of-14 shots from the field.

Green Bay is fighting for a potential home game in next week's Horizon League Tournament. The Phoenix can host a tourney game with two victories this weekend and a Detroit loss at Wright State on Friday night.

Youngstown State enters Thursday's game after an 83-76 win over Bowling Green last Saturday in a BracketBusters contest. Ashen Ward led the Penguins with a game-high 23 points on six three-pointers.

In the first meeting between the two teams, Green Bay rallied from an eight-point deficit and posted a 74-59 win on Dec. 4 at the Resch Center.

• INSIDE THE SERIES: With four-straight wins over the Penguins, Green Bay is now 22-6 overall in the all-time series. In 10 meetings against Youngstown State on the road, the Phoenix has an even 5-5 mark. Last season's game in Youngstown was a 69-55 victory.
• THE LAST MEETING: Getting 19 points, six assists and four steals from senior Rahmon Fletcher (Kansas City, Mo.), Green Bay rallied from an eight-point second-half deficit and defeated Youngstown State on Dec. 4, 2010 at the Resch Center. Sophomore Seth Evans (Seneca, Ill.) scored a season-high 13 points in the contest, hitting all three of his attempts from long range.
• PENGUINS PLAYER TO WATCH: Damian Eargle, a 6-foot-7 sophomore for the Penguins, is averaging 10.4 points and six rebounds per game. He is coming off a 15-point game against Bowling Green and is the top shot blocker in the Horizon League with 81 blocks this season.
• PERINE'S PULL-UP: Perine's game-winning pull-up jumper capped an impressive Senior Night for the Milwaukee native. With 9:35 to play, the southpaw had just two points, but he scored nine of the next 11 points for Green Bay, and then scored seven points in overtime to help his team to victory.
• AMONG THE BEST: Fletcher is winding down one of the best individual careers in Green Bay history, and the guard is still working his way up the all-time scoring ledger. With 22 points at Southern Illinois last Saturday, Fletcher moved past Richard Sims for sixth place on the program's all-time scoring list. He now has 1,644 career points and is 24 points shy of passing Mike Schactner (2006-09) and moving into fifth place.
• RECORD BREAKER: Brown blocked two shots at Southern Illinois, extending his single-season blocks record to 60. He is averaging 2.1 per game, and the freshman broke the single-season record previously shared by Larry Hill (1991-92) and Terry Evans (2006-07). Brown, who ranks third in the Horizon League in blocks per game, also holds the school records for block in a game, blocks in a game at the Resch Center and blocks in a season by a freshman.
• BROWN GETTIN' BUCKETS: Brown had the best game of his young career Monday night, posting career highs of 22 points and 12 rebounds. The 7-foot-1 center added two blocked shots and hit 7-of-14 shots from the field and all eight of his free throws. It was the second time Brown helped Green Bay beat Valparaiso, as the center had 15 points in the road win against the Crusaders.
