GREEN BAY, Wis.
(GreenBayPhoenix.com) - It's not unusual for many players to have pre-game rituals, as is the
case with Green Bay women's basketball players Celeste Hoewisch (Hortonville,
Wis.), Kayla Tetschlag (Sheboygan, Wis.), Heather Golden (De Pere, Wis.) and
Julie Wojta (Mishicot, Wis.). Before every game on the road, the four women
compete in a friendly game of cribbage.
The ritual gained national exposure when it was featured in
last year's NCAA Tournament Final Four program. "It was pretty cool to be
featured in the program for something that's just a little tradition for us,"
said Golden.
While last season the team of Wojta and Golden dominated, this
year the Tetschlag/Hoewisch team has a two-game edge with its 6-4 record.
