GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - Junior college transfers Steve Baker (St. Paul, Minn.) and Jarvis Williams (Milwaukee,
Wis.) have played significant roles in their first seasons at Green Bay. In the

The
piece originally aired on Jan. 31 as a feature on Inside Phoenix Basketball, a weekly coaches show dedicated to Green
Bay men's and women's basketball, held Tuesdays at 6 p.m. at The Bar on
Holmgren Way.
Williams,
a Milwaukee native, is averaging 7.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per game and has
started the past 12 contests for head coach Brian Wardle after coming back from
an early-season injury. The 6-foot-6 forward has shown his versatility by
guarding numerous positions.
A
junior from St. Paul, Minn., Baker has averaged 7.7 points and 4.8 rebounds per
game while playing in all 23 games for the Phoenix. He has shown an ability to
score points in bunches, especially in road games. He had 20 points and nine rebounds
in a contest at Butler on Jan. 21.
The
duo will travel to Williams' hometown on Saturday when Green Bay plays at
in-state and Horizon League rival Milwaukee at 2 p.m. The contest will be
televised live on ESPNU.
