GREEN BAY, Wis.
(GreenBayPhoenix.com) - Green Bay (17-1, 6-0 HL) women's basketball senior Kayla Tetschlag (Sheboygan, Wis.) has
been selected as the Horizon League Scholar-Athlete for the month of December,
announced by the league office.
A member of the Dean's List, Tetschlag holds a cumulative
grade-point-average of 3.8 while finishing with a fall semester GPA of 4.0.
On the court Teteschlag leads the Phoenix averaging 16.7
points per game and 8.5 boards per game while shooting 92 percent from the
free-throw line in games against Horizon League opponents. Overall in league
play, Tetschlag is eighth in scoring, ninth in rebounding and third in
free-throw percentage. In league contests Tetschlag is pacing the way with 20
steals, averaging 3.3 per game.
On Dec. 31, 2010 Tetschlag scored her 1,000th career point
in Green Bay's 69-62 win over Detroit. The Preseason Horizon League Player of the
Year is one of two Horizon League players to open up conference play with three
consecutive double-doubles. Tetschlag has posted four double-doubles throughout
the month of December, earning Horizon League Player of the Week honors for the
week of Dec. 27.
