Aug. 5, 2010 - For
the first time the NCAA has released a single-year Academic Progress Rate (APR)
for Division I head coaches in six sports.
The new Head Coach APR Portfolio highlights the critical
role coaches play in the development of their student-athletes athletically and
academically.
Women's basketball head coach Matt Bollant is the lone Green
Bay coach featured in the portfolio. The portfolio includes the single-year
team APR for head coaches at each institution he or she has been a head coach,
along with the average single-year APR in the specific sport for comparison
purposes.
Bollant possesses an impressive portfolio throughout his
three seasons at Green Bay, scoring a perfect 1000 team APR the past two years.
During the 2006-07 season Bollant's team APR was 984 compared to the Division I
average of 960. During the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons the average Division I
average was 962 and 966 respectively.
This year's portfolio includes baseball, football, men's and
women's basketball and women's indoor and outdoor track and field. The APR
system will be expanded to all Division I sports after the 2010-11 academic
year.
