February 15, 2010 - For
the first time in her collegiate career Celeste Hoewisch (Hortonville, Wis.)
has been named the Horizon League Player of the Week for Feb. 8-14.
Hoewisch led all scorers with her career high 23 points in
Green Bay's 74-63 win over Milwaukee on Saturday. In addition, Hoewisch tied a
career high eight rebounds pulling down six key defensive boards in the first
half of action. Hoewisch went 3-5 from three-point range, had three assists,
two blocks and three steals in 34 minutes of play.
With the win, Green Bay secured their 11th
consecutive 20-win season and won their 22nd consecutive game on their
home court.
Hoewisch joins teammates Julie Wojta and Kayla Tetschlag (2)
earning Horizon League Player of the Week honors this season. Cleveland State
and Green Bay each have had a League best four players selected as the Player
of the Week.
Second-place Green Bay will host UIC on Thursday at 7 p.m.
followed by Loyola on Saturday at 2 p.m.
