Bay women's basketball coach Matt Bollant has announced the newest member to
the 2010-11 roster, Megan Lukan (ON, Canada).
"She's a good hard-nosed kid and plays the game like we want
it to be played," said head coach Matt Bollant.
Lukan played for the National Elite Development Association (NEDA)
and helped the U17 Team Ontario win a bronze medal at the 2009 Canada games. A
gold medal winner in both U15 and U17 National Championships, Lukan is
considered one of the country's best.
"She's a really good floor general and one of the best on-ball
defenders I've seen all summer," said Bollant.
In mid-August the NEDA folded due to funding cuts which left
a lot of players like Lukan deciding where to finish off her prep career. Lukan
decided to return to her high school, Barrie Central Collegiate where her and
her sister Kaili will be teammates for the first time.
